About me
Hi, I'm Caldeira. I'm a Brazilian tattoo artist and multidisciplinary artist. I've always been eager to explore the world, and I found a beautiful way to do that: by listening to people’s stories and turning those memories into art.
My work flows between tattooing, painting, ceramics, ancestral textile printing, and, more recently, audiovisual storytelling. I love everything that involves craftsmanship, materiality, and touch. But more than any technique, what truly drives me is the genuine connection with those who come to me.
My artistic journey began in fashion school, where a research project led me to Maud Wagner, the first recognized female tattoo artist in history. From that moment on, I immersed myself in this universe and fell in love with it.
Since childhood, I’ve learned to see nature with care. My grandmother taught me how to work with soil, my mother showed me how to choose and care for flowers, and my grandfather taught me to recognize the songs of birds. These memories are a part of me—and naturally, a part of my art. That’s why the botanical tattoos I create carry more than just shapes; they hold memories, emotions, and personal histories. It could be the plant from your grandmother’s backyard, the tree from a special moment, or a flower that means something only you understand.
I had my first solo exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, Inominável, where I transformed my grandmother’s passing and the memory of home, chest, and embrace into art. It was an intense and deeply personal process.
Currently, I live in Paris and travel to other cities to create unique projects for special people. I want my tattoos to be remembered as an embrace on the skin, a peaceful day, a moment of true connection. I want them to be an exchange, a pause in time, a presence.
